Open-Source Policy

At In-Depth Engineering, our management approach to software development includes the use and delivery of open-source software products. Our open-source management practice requires that in the course of normal business, we provide the source code we have developed to our customers and to the entire corporate development community (on a need-to-know basis determined by the Government). Our commitment to this policy has encouraged others to do so as well. This open-source policy provides each developer, irrespective of corporate affiliation, with the opportunity to understand the essence of the software, to propose improvements to it, and to build adjacent products which seamlessly integrate with it.

Because Open Source facilitates a larger community of capable developers, it also facilitates more competition based upon cost and innovation. It is this continuing competition that saves the Government money in the short term and the long term.
